Floyd Mayweather Jr. dismisses rumors of going back to fight in the ring after his video practicing boxing became viral on social media. He explained that the training session was just to maintain his fitness.
‘That’s just a rumor. I am retired,’ Mayweather explained in a telephone interview with FightHype.com. ‘I am very happy with my career. I don’t need to fight anymore. You will have fighters who call out Floyd Mayweather. I’m happy and I’m retired,’ he continued.
Despite asserting his retirement, he did not want to be far from the boxing environment that raised his name.
‘I’m still in boxing. It doesn’t hurt to stay in shape. Your body is your protector. I just want to stay sharp, just – not to the ring, only for myself. Train boxers and just enjoy myself (despite) this pandemic. I help young and upcoming support what they want to achieve,’ he said.

I’m in the gym just exercising, cardio. Trying to keep my body looking good on the outside and also doing some cardio exercises, some other exercises to train the inner body too.’
The new role he is ready to take is the role of head coach.
