Apple is said to be designing AirPods Studio, which is said to be the smartest headphones for now.

Headphones over the ear may also later be named AirPods X and will have several sensors that can detect how users are using these headphones, such as adjusting the left and right audio channels according to usage.

Other sensors can also detect whether these headphones are worn on the head or not in use and hang on the neck, where the system will turn off the music when not in use. This feature is actually not new in earphones, like in AirPods or AirPods Pro.

AirPods Studio will also be equipped with Active Noise Cancellation and has Transparency Mode like the Sony WH-1000XM3. But reportedly there will be a differentiation between the two, which offers special settings that can be done via iOS or macOS devices.

Reported by 9to5Mac, there are likely to be two variants for these headphones, namely AirPods Studio and Studio Light. From the name, it can be seen that the difference between the two variants is the use of premium material for Studio and cheaper material for Studio Light.

The premium version of AirPods Studio will probably be priced at USD 349, equivalent to most other noise-canceling wireless headphones such as the Bose NC700 or the Sony WH-1000XM3.

The launch itself is said to be happening in early June, precisely at the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) keynote 2020.
